		<projectsummary><![CDATA[<p>Hexplorer is a six-legged walking robot designed by 4th year Systems Design Engineering students in 2000. Since then, teams of Systems Design Engineering students have worked to improve Hexplorer's functionality. This year is no exception.</p><p>This project is divided into two main design stages. The initial design phase involves developing control logic and algorithms to make a single leg of Hexplorer move smoothly to a specific set of coordinates. Debugging and communication strategies will need to be created to support the leg's motion. The anticipated time frame for this phase of the project is 4 months.</p><p>The second stage of the design project will be to coordinate all six legs in a tripod gait. This phase will depend directly on successful completion of the first phase. The anticipated time frame for this phase is 4 months. Different types of gaits will be investigated if time permits.</p>]]></projectsummary>
